John Shares More Than Just a Fly on the Wall
I met John walking down 7th Avenue in the upper 20s back in the beginning of September.
He has six tattoos, but it was this one, on his left side, that I spotted through the hole cut in the side of his t-shirt:
Fans of the popular British graffiti artist Banksy will recognize this as a tattoo based on his work. Another Banksy-inspired tattoo appeared here on Tattoosday in October of 2009.
Why this design? Aside from the fact that John likes the imagery, he especially likes the dripping effect at the bottom of the piece, as if it was spray-painted on. He also related to the ape's sign that reads "Laugh now but one day we'll be in charge".
The piece was inked at Tattooville in Neptune, New Jersey.

John offered up, an additional tattoo, as well:
Yes, that's a fly tattooed under his right armpit.
John explained that this was tattooed by an artist under the moniker "Porkchop" at Asbury Park's Parlor Gallery. It was part of an occasional event called "Fly Day Friday".
If that sounds bizarre, it gets even crazier. If you present Pork Chop with an item that was bought for under $5.00, and he finds it valuable, he will trade it for one of his fly tattoos.
John successfully presented an item and got the tattoo in exchange.
"What did you offer?" I asked.
"A Pets.com sock puppet," he replied.
Cool.

Sorry I have only just got around to blogging about my trip to Bristol to see the Banksy exhibition...It was brilliant and its not often that you go to a gallery and every single piece in the exhibit is at such a high standard. Seriously it was genius; witty, tongue in cheek pictures often with a political message behind it.
Needless to say it was extremely popular and some people ended up queuing for 7 hours to get in!!! Hehe we got lucky though because my friends Mum got up at like 6.30am to be at the front of the queue and save our places.
AND as a bonus, instead of being snooty and not letting you take photos like lots of other galleries I know (ahem...the BALTIC...) you could take as many photos as you liked so obviously I went snapper happy:

The reception of the museam was inside the icecream van! Haha it would be so fun to work in there...

The Radar- Latest Obsessions
I am off on the train to Bristol tomorrow specially to see the new Banksy exhibition at Bristol City Museam and Art Gallery!
So excited! I am just there for 3 days though so will reply to your lovely comments when I get back.
For now though here is a list of my current obsessions:
Christopher Kane + Topshop= A match made in style heaven.
3. Paper chain style necklaces a la Louis Vuitton.

For now though here is a list of my current obsessions:
1. Christopher Kane for Topshop.
Christopher Kane + Topshop= A match made in style heaven.His last collection designed specially for Topshop sold out and this one is even better with a whopping 39 pieces including bags and shoes!
The only problem is that even though this special Topshop collection is a fraction of the price of the real thing it is still pretty expensive (or too much for me anyway!) with the price range being from £40 to £160.
Photos were leaked on the internet but then taken off from the Topshop crew before I could save them and add them onto here... So I can confirm there will be a crocodile t-shirt dress similar to his awesome primate inspired ones in his S/S 09 collection but unfortunately I can't get ahold of the photos.
Cannot wait till I can get myself down to Topshop though so I can try something on by my favourite ever designer!

Happy Birthday To Me!
I had such a good day yesterday!My friends made me the two best cakes ever- one of them was a Banksy cake and the other an Obama one. Doesn't get better than that!
In the end though I decided I just wanted to keep it small so I went out for pizza with my closest friends and then they came back to mine for a sleepover. We had such a laugh.
My friends Laura and Izzie (both genius at drawing) drew me a Banksy picture similar to the real thing pictured below. Can't wait to get it framed and hung up on my bedroom wall!
I feel so lucky to have such great friends. So thanks you guys.
