Kate Moss Spring Summer 2010 collection

As usual I love some of the Kate Moss for Topshop designs (those gorgeous maxi dresses and that fab Kimono) and loathe some of the others (a multicoloured feathered cape springs to mind...)
But for once I think I have found a dress that I could actually wear (see below)

Obviously the whole appeal of the Kate Moss for Topshop collection is that the supermodel herself played some part in coming up with the collection- however the sceptical side of me says that this was not very much- and this is the aspect which shoppers are attracted to.
Many bloggers and magazines critical of the collaboration say that the poor and deluded Topshop customers shop the range because they think that this will make them look like Kate Moss.
But no one is stupid enough to think that one perchase of an embellished shift dress is enough to make them look like the famous multimillionaire supermodel, pouting in the adverts.
Instead they buy the clothes because they look good and they want to emmulate her unique and celebrated sense of style. Sure they want to buy into her brand as well, like any other well established designer or label. I mean I love that little 'Kate Moss' logo as much as the next girl, but people who are interested in fashion can think for themselves too. They are not going to buy just anything with Kate Moss' supposed seal of approval.

But I do have approval for this printed swing dress, from her new collection. So tempting...

Current Style Obsession- The Burberry Trench Coat

Despite it being one of the most famous and well established British brands, renowned for its amazing, classic items of clothing I always have chavvy connotations with Burberry. The mere sight of its beige tartan pattern is enough for me to imagine a charv from my school wearing a cheap, knock off Burberry cap and thinking they look the bee’s knees.

Despite this I still can’t get enough of Burberry trench coats; the trademark of the multi-million pound company. They seem so romantic to me and as these photos show they have universal appeal. You can wear them young and old, male and female, belted and unbelted and in tons of styles and colours- they suit everybody and go with everything.

They also never go out of fashion and so in the cold, rainy and snowy (I have been off school today and yesterday because of the snow!) North of England where I live having a trench coat in my life would be so practical, not to mention glamorous.

I love these bright and bold trenches, especially the purple one in the first photo (but then I am purple crazy haha)
So jealous of these little children complete with their adorable buttoned up coats (oh and expect a post- well more of an image dump- of children’s fashion photos soon...)
If I had a Burberry trench I would look even more pleased with myself than the cute little gal on the right.

The classic and versatile beige ones which go with everything and for me are the important addition to a working wardrobe. If I ever become a city lawyer I know what will be my first purchase.
Photos to show they work equally well on men and women and in a variety of colours and textures. I love the patent look of the lady's above, like a fresh pair of black leather school Mary Jane shoes.
Simply chic. And how could I forget the classic Sartorialist bicycle shot of a lady about town on her beautiful bike riding about town.
The gorgeous Emma Watson (I have a major girl crush on her as regular readers of my blog will know) as the face of Burberry. Autumn Winter collection on the left and the new shots which were released earlier this week of her in the Spring Summer collection.
Of course the Burberry trench is the dream but TopShop does do a decent high street verision with the added USP of shoulder pads.

Photos either from Burberry- Art Of The Trench or the wonderful Sartorialist on his collaboration with Burberry (check out the first link)

Do you own a trench coat? If so where is it from?

"I'm not the same kid from your memory. Now I can fend for myself."

Gutted. I just found out that I am missing Halloween this year. Which means no excuse to dress up. Sob.
However I am going to France to stay with my BFFL in her holiday house there (woop I can finally go abroad this year!) so I can't really complain. Instead I have compiled what I probably would be wearing (all from Topshop oh and the photo above is from weheartit) and what I wish I would be wearing for Halloween. Which for the record I only like because it gives me an excuse to get all dressed up. And is the only time you can go out dressed as like a fairy or Harry Potter or something and not get weird looks.

My dream halloween outfits (above).
If money was not a problem then is what my halloween costume would something like; either the SS09 Balmain (left) or the AW09 Maz Azria for Herve Leger (right)
*Sigh*
If only...

So if you had an unlimited budget what would you wear for Halloween?
Or what are you planning on wearing?

Oh how I wish I was sitting in her stylish high heeled shoes...

Chloe Green is one lucky lady.
As well as getting as many Topshop clothes as she wants for free because her billionaire dad Phillip Green runs the store she gets to sit next to Kate Moss on the front row of the Topshop show at London Fashion Week...
Jealous, me?!
But then again her Dad is there as well, which does make the whole "I'm sitting next to the one and only Kate Moss" thing seem quite a bit less cool.

Mr Kane has done it again

I know you will probably already seen these gorgeous Christopher Kane for Topshop photos, but I couldnt resist sharing them on the day of the launch (you know how much I love a good fashion collaboration!)
These pieces are so gorgeous and I love the way you instantly recognise them as the designers own- especially with the Crocodile tee, a fantastic new version of his iconic gorilla print from SS09.
My favourite piece has to be the one below, its midnight blue colour and sparkly embellishment is perfect for getting dressed up in autumn winter. However at £125 I had better get saving...

Kate Moss AW09

What do you think about Kate Moss Kate Moss' new collection for Topshop?

Because at the moment I am just not sure...
I am a big fan of Kate and usually I want loads of items from her range, but this time round I have only seen 1 out of 47 pieces that I actually want to buy.
However the dress I have my eye on is really lovely (even though it is £50 so I had better get saving!) and looks like it will be perfect for keeping snug in winter whilst looking good.

"You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club."

Love that quote from Jack London (an American author)
How wonderful would it be to find the one. The Jacket You Wear With Anything. This is the stylish black jacket which you can work with a little floral dress, rock up with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt or to dress down a glamorous dress. Its appeal is that you can wear it day and night, with flats or heels and it will look amazing with literally everything in your wardrobe. Of course I will let you know when I have found that perfect little black jacket (LBJ if you will) but for now here are some very good examples and ideas:
Kate Moss queen of the jacket over a little floral dress look.

My favourite's from Twenty8Twelve which is Savannah and Sienna Millers label.

The Radar- Latest Obsessions

I am off on the train to Bristol tomorrow specially to see the new Banksy exhibition at Bristol City Museam and Art Gallery!
So excited! I am just there for 3 days though so will reply to your lovely comments when I get back.
For now though here is a list of my current obsessions:
1. Christopher Kane for Topshop.
Christopher Kane + Topshop= A match made in style heaven.

His last collection designed specially for Topshop sold out and this one is even better with a whopping 39 pieces including bags and shoes!
The only problem is that even though this special Topshop collection is a fraction of the price of the real thing it is still pretty expensive (or too much for me anyway!) with the price range being from £40 to £160.
Photos were leaked on the internet but then taken off from the Topshop crew before I could save them and add them onto here... So I can confirm there will be a crocodile t-shirt dress similar to his awesome primate inspired ones in his S/S 09 collection but unfortunately I can't get ahold of the photos.
Cannot wait till I can get myself down to Topshop though so I can try something on by my favourite ever designer!

2. Arctic Monkeys new song "Crying Lightning."

3. Paper chain style necklaces a la Louis Vuitton.

4. Whip It Trailer:

5. The Perm.

See ya when I get back...

Topshop Autumn Winter Lookbook

I am so glad I am following Topshop on Facebook (yes I agree it is a bit sad though) otherwise I would not have found these amazing photos from Topshop's A/W lookbook. The bright colours and all that sparkle will be perfect for Christmas parties!
Every year I search for the perfect winter coat, something that is not too bulky (and makes me look huge!) but that still keeps me warm and I think I have found it! Just check out the photo below, the trench style and the military gold buttons of this coat are gorgeous...
