I'VE GOT STRIPES, STRIPES AROUND MY SHOULDERS. AGAIN.

I'm having a stripe-thing going on! I just can't get enough of stripes and I'm waiting to be able to wear striped tops with shorts, wicker bags and cropped jackets and bike around in the sunshine. Oh yes.

And, about the stuff; the following things in the picture are vintage: bag, chairs, table, lamp, beret

...and the following are not: top & cardigan (H&M), fridge (Smeg), shoes (last year's DinSko), skirt (Vivien of Holloway).

THE NEW PERFECT

You know this time of year I tend to start dressing up in colours inspired by the holidays... (and damn I was blonde last year!)

I'm going all red this year in my new pinafore skirt, from Vivien of Holloway! And I think it's perfect.

If you consider buying (my discount code still runs until the end of this month, if you still haven't taken advantage of it...), note that I got one size bigger than normally, to be able to fit anything underneath. Or well first I didn't, I had to exchange it - the larger size still has a good fit and feels nice with a little extra room, especially in winter when too tight clothing can make you cold. (There you go, some minor words of wisdom from me again).

The shirt is also VoH. (And, yes, for those who remember me thinking about it, I will most likely get the other one too, later.)

Good night!

ONE ABSOLUTE FAVORITE AMONG MANY

I seldom have the time to take any outfit photos of myself when going out (you know as in out-out, to a show, venue, party or so) mostly because I am always a bit late and also as my going out nowadays almost every time includes me performing somewhere.(Which means that I leave the house for the stage check in rollers and comfortable wear and do the dress up backstage at the venue.)

But, sometimes I do manage to get a pic taken - here's me in one of my favorite going-out outfits; a curve-hugging halter neck pencil dress with matching bolero from Vivien of Holloway.

I think it also works for more formal occasion, business meetings, lunches and such, as long as you keep the bolero on. You may remember that I have the same combo in red with white dots too, as well as a sateen sarong combo.

Well anyway, to the point; as you know Vivien of Holloway is one of my favorite brands, and the people there are really nice and helpful - now we've worked out this little thing togehter that should please all of you lovely readers:
You get a 10% discount when shopping online on www.vivienofholloway.com until the end of this year!

Use the code: VOH_F4shionF4b to get the discount.
The code can be used once and is valid until December 31st.

VIVIEN OF HOLLOWAY WEDDING WEEKEND pt.2

-the yellow edition!
Or, as I also like to think: the lemon licorice one.
(How come I always want to combine dressing up and candy? I'm not that much of a candy person after all.)

I made the daisy hair comb to go along with the dress, which has small daisies on it.

La la la la with the bolero on.

Ladi dadi da without it on.

As it obviously is bound to happen sooner or later* I might just say it straight away: bring on the matching track suits!

So it was a Vivien of Holloway binge once again; everything is Vivien of Holloway except for the vintage bag and the shoes. (And no they did no sponsor my trip.)

*)No not really. The tracksuits I mean. I don't think they'll ever happen no matter how much we match shirts and dresses. Or? I mean, could be fun to kitsch it up Royal Tenebaum style once in a while (not the common Finnish jerk style though). Well, on Halloween perhaps.

VIVIEN OF HOLLOWAY WEDDING WEEKEND pt.1

We left warm and sunny Helsinki last week and headed a bit more south to a colder and rainier place (now that's something you don't get to say often as a Finn I tell you!) for my cousins three-day wedding. *

I was pretty much dressed in Vivien of Holloway from top to toe all weekend long, like a living ad :)

I wore my red dotted halter neck pencil dress to the coctail party the night before the actual wedding. I've sewn a big pearl button on to the bolero since it was a bit too big for me - I think it works pretty well!

(The dress is rather amazing btw in the sense you can actually eat surprisingly much with it on and still not only look good in it but also keep on feeling great** (even after stuffing yourself with tapas the whole night). And that's a good thing since I like to eat.)

Dress, Bolero, Belt - Vivien of Holloway, Bag - vintage, Shoes - bought in Oslo

*) But even though the weather was shit the weekend was nice so no harm done.
**) Well it's a very good dress for other reasons too, like the one it gives your body a great houg-glass figure.

TODAY'S DESSERT : ICECREAM

This time I dressed like strawberry icecream and raspberry sorbet. Or like a big fluffy pastry with lots of jam and frosting, cream and meringues.

Ok, I didn't actually dress with dessert on my mind but I did come to think of that afterwards. (Even though I've had dessert on my mind a lot lately. Don't know what it is but I've developed a huge sweet tooth lately). And It's nice to sometimes dress like an overdose of sugar (even though I cut it down a bit with black accessories). Then I went out and did our best show ever! After which I had one of the, um, craziest night ever. And managed to loose my newly thrifted belt (how the hell is that possible) and a whole bag of my stage make up, buuh.

Dress - Vivien of Holloway,Cardigan - GinaTricot, Shoes - O.I.S, Seamed Stockings - H&M, Belt - now gone :(

PASTELS

What's wrong with me? While considering myself to be the girl who generally goes for black I now find myself craving (as you may have noticed) for sheer pastel colours and floral prints. Blame it on the upcoming spring, blame it on me being influenced by lovely blogs over the years. Oh well, pretty it is either way.

Some spring-y items from two of my all-time favourite brands; a babyblue floral dream from Vivian of Holloway and another lovley summery dress from Trashy Diva. And why not throw in some peachy Parikkas, silky lingerie and fluffy accessories while I'm at it?

From left to right:
Fifites Halterneck Rose Garde Blue Dress from Vivien of Holloway,
Pirouette tulle necklace (that I'd wear in my hair...) Etsy / DeliciousSoul,
Peach Harlow Lingerie Set from What Katie Did via PandorasChoice,
Circle Skirt Day Dress from Trashy Diva and
the Raquel Shoe in powder pink by Minna Parikka.

I'm also drooling over this pair of denim dungarees, from Tara Starlet (also included in my all-time favourites); to be worn with my toffee coloured pumps an my hair rolled up with a scarf around it. They also come in full-lenght and I can't decide which one'd be better, jumpsuit or trouser version?

But but, for the moment none of these items are neither in nor out of my budget since I don't have one; I am not getting anything new! But,I do have a couple of floral fabrics in my closet waiting to be sewn into something, and I have an amazing rosy dress still unworn until it's premier in slightly warmer times!

Oh, and not to forget; if you order a springtime dress from Vivien of Holloway now yo get a matching bolero included! Worth checking out...

(WELL, ACTUALLY MOST POST HAVE NO DEEPER MEANING)

Dress - Vivien of Holloway

Tonight it's time for club Wanted again! And it will be a great night. But, to be honest, right now I'd just like to crawl up in a corner and wait there for a couple of months; for better times, for spring, but I have a show to do tonight and it will be a fabulous one (as usual, but really, it's just getting better! :)

So I'm going to make the best out of it and wear one of my best dresses too. (I've never actually had a dress before that fits so good in the waist like this one. Amazing.) And put on my red glittering lipstick that will sparkle like hell on stage. Yeah.
